I found the whole meemaw and pawpaw thing grating. Don't know why, but everytime I read it it was the same.
How odd 😁
Enjoyed this one very much. Pleased to vote five. If I could change anything it would be to deal some misery to General Diversity.
Good story. Two nits: (1) I understand the need for Gen. DEI, but the caricature is a bit over the top. (2) A lifelong teetotaler plays tourist at a distillery?
Please keep writing; I enjoy reading your work.
She told him she'd never been on dates, since she was waiting for him, and he had no Idea she was a virgin? Lol
Is the name Bobby Jo Gentry just an homage, or is she indeed supposed to be the singer-songwriter best known for "The Ballad of Billie Jo?"
Another great story from this talented author. Maybe it’s time to learn that “it’s” is not the possessive of “it.”
Loved the idea that he never drank alcohol, especially since I don't either. Almost all stories on here have just about everyone drinking. It gets very annoying. Well done!
It's not quite May December but late August or Labor Day for sure. It would be an interesting leap forward to see how they make out when he hits Medicare age and she starts getting the perimenopausal wanderlust. 5 stars for this one though. Well told!
Great story! As someone who's had to endure interminable DEI training here in California, I loved your lambasting of "General Diversity."
My only gripe is General Diversity is Chekov's Gun. I realize not everyone agrees with the principle but I do. As a passing comment she would have been fine but, she was heavily referenced. The story is sweet but the lack of her presence throughout is a distraction
Diversity for the sake of diversity is a path to failure. Diversity of ideas among the best of the best is a pathway to success. I really enjoyed the story but the age difference was an unnecessary distraction for me. It would have been easy to modify the plot line to make the reader believe they will live happily ever after. 4.4*
"Almost all stories on here have just about everyone drinking. It gets very annoying. "
I agree totally.
The DEI bit at the beginning was boring and just not needed. Staff and field officers have been complaining about each other since the inception of staff vs field.
