I miss the old Paulene who had her act together and was loyal, trustworthy, and honorable. She would have been worth following to Brown or Horton or whatever name school back east.

Ever since she skipped out just before her planned wedding to shack up with a married man, her behavior has degenerated to match all the other selfish girls in rob/bob's life.

Your universe still need a perfect female character, just for contrast. -- the ideal that keeps rob returning to the dating frey.

Dumbass cuck

She was willing to cheat with him on her husband, and willing to cheat on him with her husband

.

He refuses to take back Pauline for nothing more than dating other men, but is willing to take back a woman he knows for a fact is a serial cheater who had multiple affairs??

No flipping way. Insist on DNA tests for the girls, even if they are his she's proven to be incredibly untrustworthy as a romantic partner. I think the mc is just scared of being alone.

Sorry this reads more like an outline or a sketch than a fully developed story. In addition, there really is no background or logical train in this one. Seems that every major plot point is a Deux ex Machina entry or exit from off stage. The whole thing is way to piecemeal and the conclusion is the worst Deux ex Machina contrived mess I have seen recently.

Sorry but it is 3 stars and that is stretching it.

Pauline wanted to date other guys and she was a bitch, Julie didn't want to marry him and she was a "disappointment", and Barbara two-timed him, lied to him about her marriage and then leaves him for her husband but he ends up marrying her? You need to have a very fertile brain to imagine that.

Perfect setup for chapter 2 when she cheats on him. Once a cheater always a cheater. He’ll probably make a great dad. Just a lousy husband

Of the 3 women in this story Babs was probably the least worthy of commitment to. She's admitted to being highly sexed and commited to cheating on a spouse. Bobby is written as a complete wimp for settling for a tramp. She will cheat on him the first time he leaves town on a business trip.

This is one of your better-wtitten stories. However, the ending was unrealistic and rushed. The ending lowered the overall score to a 4star rating

JBEdwardsJBEdwardsover 2 years ago

You always write good stories, in my opinion. Continuing with my opinion, this is one of your best! I'm glad it worked out with him and Babs, his true love, and probably her true love, too. Her commitment to the other guy she felt compelled to honor, and she probably loved both men. She could have been more forthcoming with our hero, but he would not have stood for it, with her being someone else's wife. She probably knew that, hence the secrecy. Too bad he missed some of the infancy of his twin girls. I suppose his cousin knew Babs wasn't all there for him, although it sure seemed so at the time. Maybe she saw some wistfulness of something in Babs' eyes. You should ask her. Five stars and a thank you, JBE

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

So she ends up having twins and no husband so she goes back to the guy who said he loved her. But what if the kids weren't his after all?

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

Seriously?? She has no problem leading lying to the MC. Leading him on. She had no concerns about deceiving her husband about who the baby's father might really be. She shows up out of nowhere, says hi baby and he drops down on one knee to marry her? No, not even close to believable.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

Another convoluted classic only from the mind of JPB. Bob brings in the full cast of characters, especially our favorite slut Pauline performing her infamous cock lust for another riotous diversion.

Thanks JPB. I was hoping you would partake in this story line.

AngelRiderAngelRiderover 2 years ago

There ought to be quality control to be included in events. This is a hot mess. There are plot holes all over the place. It's a God damned disaster and the ending makes absolutely no sense. Marrying the cousin would have been more satisfying. How you even manage a 4 rating at this point is astounding. I am never going to be one that yells "cuck" like some insurrectionist. The problem isn't that he married Babs, it's you failed (and miserably) to justify the decision. Your ability to develop characters isn't great but it's usually better than this hot mess.

Robby_DRobby_Dover 2 years ago

I don't see a happy future for our hero. Overall, this was a pretty good story, but it seems that Babs just wanted him back because of the kids. She has proven herself to be a girl that easily fucks around and is capable of shutting off her feelings and breaking up relationships easily. Bad choice in a wife.

onbothsidesonbothsidesover 2 years ago

She didn't exactly hurry back to him, did she? Did she run out of guys in Ypsilanti? I'm not too sure about because she knows, KNOWS, that she can keep a husband and a lover at the same time. Will he visit Atlanta again, because she's kinda "if you can't be with the one you love....."

And like some others, I also miss the confident and independent Ms. French.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

After all that he knew and all that those girls had done to him, he STILL just accepts that the children are his!!!? Dumb!

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

A truly clumsy RAAC. I say "clumsy" because the MC learned nothing.

To write a good story, you need tension and a character arc, wherein at least ONE of the characters learns something and develops further from it.

Pauline learned nothing from her first debacle.

Babs learned nothing -- she came back to the MC only because she got knocked up.

And worst of all, the patheic MC learned absolutely nothing from TWO crash-and-burn episodes (Jules was honest), and like a dog returning to his vomit, wants to marry the cheating ho who never even told him she was already married.

Not even a good RAAC, which are possible.

numbnutz49numbnutz49over 2 years ago

So much for one bitten, twice shy! It would be more believable if they reconnected on the phone, she discloses that he is, indeed, the babies daddy. With all of the feelings about not ever finding his true love, it sounds like a desperation to be married. Some people felt that way and did what he did (someone very close to me) and that wound up a shitty marriage. Decent overall story and well written as usual, but the conclusion didn't fit the events.

sbrooks103xsbrooks103xover 2 years ago

"she wanted to keep me on the hook while she dated other guys" - There's nothing wrong with not being exclusive as long as it goes both ways. Now, if she wanted to date other guys while he had to sit home alone, then good riddance to her.

\

"When you told me you wanted to know what other guys were like, it was the same as telling me you weren't satisfied with what you had." - Exactly.

\

"We both can play as long as we are careful and don't let thigs get serious." - I guess she failed that requirement!

\

He told her there wouldn't be a third chance.

\

@lujon2019, Babs wasn't a cheater, she and her husband had an agreement. I agree that she wasn't honest with Bobby, and if it wasn't for the kids he should probably dump her.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

Don't let the bastards grind you down, Bob. You've still got it. Deus might take umbrage at the "Deux ex Machina" characterization by servant111, and enderlocke77 should read and follow his own suggestions about clipped sentences, improper words, etc., and learn about upper case letter usage.

The story was developed well, and the ending was "typical Bob," giving us credit for the imagination to end the story favorably for ourselves. I have read your entire story list twice, and often go back to favorites. Please keep writing!

Pretty standard JPB fare, but good enough for a Lit 4. Now, why do authors write absurd horseshit like this? "...by the time I started high school, the "Female is the weaker sex" was history..."

The "World Champion" women's soccer team lost badly to a U15 Dallas boys squad; women in MMA complain about being physically "overwhelmed" by chemically castrated trannies (in fact the trannies can pretty much dominate any women's sport if they are let in (gymnastics being a likely exception); women have to be failed upward to become "Mommie Rangers"; standards on fire and police physical exams have to be severely lowered to let the girlies pretend that they can be cops and firemen (there's an hilarious John Stossel video of a girlie fire hose crew getting whipped around by a fire hose that they have no chance of controlling), and so on, and so on, and so on.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

"I threw myself into the business and didn't bother trying to find someone to form a relationship with."

Nowadays that would be the best ending. Too many 304's running around thinking they have gold in their boxes.

JPB writes cautionary tales for guys of "the marrying kind" that it won't be easy and they shouldn't get their hopes up.

As for his proposal and Babs acceptance within minutes of seeing each other for the first time in a year, I too would be wondering how Babs got pregnant with her IUD in. Perhaps Charlie was ok with her fwb with Bob, but not with the other other guy(s?) Babs hooked up with at home on that winter break.

Bob wants to be married with children and is taking the ignorance is bliss approach and betting his life that Babs will settle in and want to make the best of it. At least until the kids are grown, tick tick tick tick.

Note: No cucks were injured in the production of this story. (Wait, does Charlie count?)

This has been a 'Pour encourager les autres' production.

Footnote: Per Wikipedia first cousin marriage is legal in nineteen US states (Colorado among them and no not all of the Southern ones), and permissible with procreation related restrictions in seven others.

🤣🤣🤣no?? Actually ?? an adult man wrote that ??

fritz51fritz51over 2 years ago

Well written; therefore a good score from me, but as to the story's finish - Babs seemes to be just using Bobby to resolve her problems. She said before that she didn't love him, she does now? Why? Cause her husband bolted?

Bobby shouldn't have taken a knee first; FIRST he should have had a DNA test done: the girls may not have been his. OK her hubby was sterile, but with her Open relationship, how does he know that there were only two men tapping that? Should a minmum ask... AND is she going to be a one man woman this time around? She liked the Open Relationship before.

Bobby is risking a lot here.

fritz51fritz51over 2 years ago

Oh, I almost forgot - batting averages of 3.75 and 2.90 are impossible; I'm thinking you meant .375 & .290... doesn't affect the story.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

I've always enjoyed those odyssey-type JPB stories, and this is a new one cut from that cloth. Although I read a few of the already-posted comments, and admit the critical ones made some good points, I think the bottom line for the MC is that this is the woman he wanted, and feelings are not logical. So I'm going to give a 5 to Lit's consistently #1-rated LW writer, and the others can go hang.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

Not bad. 3 Stars.

Julie was honest.

Pauline just wanted him and exploratory dicks too. Nothing wrong with that, provided everybody agrees.

Turns out his cousin was right, Babs was not what she seemed. What she laid on Bobby when she left to go back home is what she should have told him when they first started dating. So some risk she is still not what she seems.

But it felt odd in the end...

Babs seems to me like an expert manipulator.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

Okay Bob, how the hell did you turn this in to a happily ending story? With all the falling this poor schmuck was doing how did you manage to let him land on his feet? Guess you proved that old friends are the best friends.

MormonJackMormonJackover 2 years ago

Thanks JPB! I love your stories. Even this one - 5 stars. But I want to tell Bob to keep his eyes open. Babs didn't tell him she was already married and I think that is a strike and MAJOR omission. She knew he wanted more - another strike against Babs. Her husband wasn't enough for her - a third strike. Honestly, you have to say that Bob married Babs because (a) the two girls, and (b) he liked the sex.

GriscomGriscomover 2 years ago

Seriously? Both Babs and Pauline cheated on him but, on balance, Pauline was a bit more honest because (a) she told him she wanted to date other guys while Babs never said she was already married, and (b) Pauline cheated on him once we know of while Babs cheated on him the entire time she was married to another guy. Babs was even cheating on the bully because she was married while dating him. In fact, the only person Babs did not cheat on was her husband. Or at least until he decided he didn't like sharing after all. So, the only reason that I see in the text for why this Bobby guy was willing to go with Babs instead of Pauline in the end was because fucking her lying ass was better than masturbating. What a wonderful foundation to build a family on, especially one where we don't even know whose kids she had.

What a Lark! Reading one of your stories is like listening to a semi-drunk at a wedding reception telling stories about himself, the family, the bride, even the preacher. And after the drunk leaves you laughing and wanting more stories you find out he's a wedding crasher; doesn't know a soul and no one knows him. But even though the stories are complete bull shit they are fun to read.

Of course Babs will end up cheating on him, and why not? The twins aren't his kids anyway! But he, and Babs, don't find out about the paternity problem till later. Then she admits that Bobby Was her next best guess, but, yeah, it could have been that guy in a red pickup truck. He was hung like a horse and most of the women at the school were fucking him when they could get the chance. Babs still sticks him with child support payments, and his parents still invite her over so they can continue as faux grandparents. In the sequel Bobby starts dating men. He ends up getting a sex transfer, but there isn't anything they can do for his lack of brains. Babs marries the asshole who was bullying her at the beginning of the story. If Bobby had been smart enough to wonder why Babs was dating such an asshole to begin with he would have saved himself a lot of grief. But then we wouldn't have had such a fun story to enjoy. Another case of sacrifice for the greater good. Let's Go Brandon!

One thing about JPB, he doesn't let a small thing like virtue, self respect, or normal human decency get in the way of a character's behavior, especially women. I think JPB is the source of the Martian Slut Ray pandemic in LW; is he Chinese?

Just pulling your leg. How do You like it? Thanks for the effort.

That was a twisted path! I am left wondering how Bobby got past the fact that she’d used him, and left him in the dark about being married; in light of how Pauline cheated regularly. /

Before dropping to a knee - he needed to have a come to Jesus discussion/rules with Babs and a clear custody pre-nup - she was the cheater (for what ever reason). Who's the father listed on the birth certificates? Do the girls carry his name? Or will he have to adopt them after DNA verification? We know Babs is a slut - who says she didn't have another man in the mix (we are to blindly trust her due to becoming a mother - NOT)? Bab's dropped out of college she is desperate to find a father!

/

This story ended to fast. The author wanted to end on a high note but to many factors to end at that moment. Why did Babs NOT reach out and call him as soon as she was told her current husband was sterile and dumping her? How old are the girls NOW? What is the time frames here?

Interesting story. It is sad that every relationship decision in made by a woman.

Have a girlfriend - she drags him by the arm and informs him

Have sex - wait until she suggests

Get back together - her initiative

Place for a date - she likes dancing, so the dancing place

See his babies - she drops by uninvited and lets him

For a guy, who stands up to bullies and does not allow cheating, he is too passive.

All he does is react to circumstance.

No fun reading about mc, who does not show initiative, doesn't take any chances, has no plans or ambitions.
