I thought it was well done. I may have to do some fishing myself.
Good luck!
I never thought about story ideas that way, but it's true!
Great job and good luck. :)
I sometimes do this with poems and sometimes not. Thanks for letting us know it is okay to fish. :D An interesting read and one I think you enjoyed as much as the readers. Good Luck with the contest. ~ Red
I go fishing all the time! Great how-to, good luck! :D
An excellent example of fishing and writing put together for everyone to understand. I do both as a hobby and was able to relate to every instance described.
Thank you for the 'How to' a refresher course. As usual very entertaining.
a rather strange analogy, and one that didn't quite get it. When I am searching for a word, I use a thesaurus or a dictionary. At the same time, I do kind of stare up at the ceiling when I am trying to think of just how to word a sentence so it fits best with what has gone before and what will be written later.
I do the same thing when I search for the proper word in a story or poem.
Good luck in the contest!
but I noticed my comment was a no show. This was an interesting How-To, Art. I don't reckon I've ever likened coming up with an idea to fishing before. LOL. Don't you just love 'country speak'? Great analogy, Art. Good luck in the contest. ~Minx
My 'live well' is a little folder of 'words' and 'ideas' that sit until I am in need.
Good advice for any writer.
It was a good read. entertaining, creative and inspiring. I am going to start my Idea book, or trophy wall today. Thanks for the tip.
But I useally like to stick to my sorce insperation, I noticed that once I do that it seems that my insperation is limitless almost to the point where I feel I'm drowning in it, and even if I'm dry once when I draw back to the sorce insperation again I once again feel like I'm drowning in ideas again.
