Waves crash against the rocks
Like thunder in the sky
Water sprays into the air
Time ceases to pass me by

I could sit and watch for hours
Here upon the rocky shore
Gazing out into the ocean
Lost forever, nothing more

But civilization interrupts
People laughing, walking past
Photographers and children playing
My private spot is theirs, at last

And so I stand and walk away
Reluctantly I turn my back
Shrugging my shoulder, rejoining the world
And that’s the end.
