As I fall asleep
The multiverse opens up to me
Meteors rip the sky
And I tumble into dream

Far away in the layers and fold
Broken rainbows sprinkling gold
Mist and unicorns are born
Life becoming ancient lore

Jumping through space dust
Running from ghouls
Cosmic spider webs
A sip of witch's brew

As I drift into realms beyond
The dark man waits for angels to fall
Nails scratch and render
The canvas torn and burnt to cinder

Life into life
Death happy and ripe
As I lay me down to sleep
From the edges of time, the nightmares creep

One in a million
Two for each crime
The multiverse opens
Behind my closed eyes

Quite a different perspective than sleep as rest. Vivid imagery; well done; dark, but well done. The last stanza was intriguing and I like the word choice of “multiverse.”
