These five short poems are dedicated to those special felines in my life:

Sitting on the stair in wait
Ears bent back and whiskers taut
Kitten stalks its prey
Foot appears above
Claws out! A Shriek! The cat wins

--

Puffy tail and fur on edge
Makes the cat seem much bigger
Hissing at the dog
Protect family
Canine is the evil one

--

Birds in air flying above
Leaves fluttering in the trees
Shadows moving fast
From below watching
The cat sees all the movement

--

Basking in the sun
A cat stretching peacefully
Purrs with its satisfaction
Whiskers twitch ever so slight
Little ball of fur

--

This creature is my best friend
My comfort while depressed
Curling in my lap
Purring in my ear
My black cat is my best friend
