Fifteen Winters

Fifteen winters
Of a deathless dread

The thoughts aid
My severed head

He refused every quarter
Every ox, every ship

Reechoing words
Falling from your lips

I speak silent words
With careless actions

In the bed of the devil
This is pure attraction

So come home to me
In this unreal land

Come home to me
With an empty hand

Tend my fire
It's burning with steam

My heart is torn open
And sewn at the seam

You clipped my soul
A tame flightless pinion

The days are so long
Caressed with your sweet oblivion

I want to see
Your hallow soul

You're burning inside me
Like a searching coal
