The world has stopped on this one day,
Allowing you and I to find our way,
Seeing the sights without guilt or shame,
Spending the day without name or fame.

Buildings tower over the New York street,
The place where two lovers meet.
Side-by-side we marvel at the sights,
Amazed at the majesty of the lights.

Central Park, Times Square and Old Broadway,
Arm in arm, we stroll and we play.
Smiling, laughing, the weather is cold,
We have no worries, we’ll never grow old.

A carriage awaits and we take our seat,
Drawn by horses, we journey through streets.
We can’t be seen and no one will tell,
As we enjoy the sights, the sounds, the smell.

In a quiet corner building we pause to think,
Immersed in talk, we enjoy our drink.
We talk about life, humanity and dreams,
All is now possible, or so it seems.

The room is warm, the fireplace glows,
We gaze into each other’s eyes, the champagne flows.
Across the white rug, is this a vision I see?
You are wearing the black lingerie, just for me.

I praise your beauty as poets often will,
Your eyes, your body, my heart should be still.
Turning to face me, you revel in my desire,
“I am yours,” you say, and we both feel like fire.

We raise our glasses, I offer a toast,
It is our one moment, not a time to boast.
The world has stopped, the night is ours,
We make sweet love, for hours and hours.
