tragically wingless ....cruelly without flight
but like vampires , werewolves or Goddess Kali
Whose Name implies Horror daaarkly
as shadows lenghthen , people hurry home ...
i settle in front of computer like a gnome
in the lonely , silent reaches of the night
my imagination , energy , creativity takes flight:
am insipidly listless in the mornings .....
come throbbin'ly alive in the evenings .....
whether office work or creative pleasure
i suuurf around on the 'Net @ my leisure
at whisperin' shadows i don't jump up in fright
if the Dark Lord appears , i stay 'n fight
becoz' .....am a Creature of the Night .....

wakingDownalmost 9 years agoBrings images of countless internet trolls to mind (not you, I don't think of you this way), huddled in their parents basement, acting like gibbering goblins at their keyboards in the still watches of the late hours while accompanied by only the clacking of keys and the dull, dim glow of the monitor.
The recurring rhyme does well to tie it together into a neat package that keeps the flow moving at a steady pace, while the ellipses do well to give an ambiance and slower pace in places, taking control of the speed of the work efficiently and without braking the spell. Wonderful work, Ashesh.
